Bali Quilting Retreat, Fabric and Curtural Tour September 2018

Come and join and indulge your passion for quilting and batik fabrics with a group of like minded people to Bali.  This tour starts with visits to Batik shops, a wonderful haberdashery shop and Batik lessons.  Followed by the opportunity to sew in at a beautiful resort with a private area with workrooms and its own swimming pool.  The accommodation is on site so you are able to sew 24/7 if you so desire.  We include cultural experiences of the beautiful country and people of Bali.
The land only tariff includes accommodation, breakfast and lunch each day, 3 dinners, tour guide and transport,  pick up and return to the airport at the start and finish of the retreat.  Visits to batik shops, two batik lessons, use of sewing machines and cultural experiences.

Vicky's Monday Night Quilting Group from Albury/Wondanga have a quilting weekend at Russellee BnB Craft Retreats.

Russellee offers a venue for quilters, scrapbookers or other crafters to indulge in their passion.  We provide accommodation and organise meals.  This allows you the have a weekend to concentrate on you passion and we will look after you.

Sandy's Quilters October Retreat

Sandy's Quilters, eight lovely ladies from Canberra, were at Russellee for a quilting retreat on the weekend. It never ceases to amaze how much can be achieved on a two day retreat. The group worked on their own projects. Some were new and some were UFOs. A lot of larger quilt tops were achieved as well as some smaller projects

UFO Quilting Retreat

Last weekend Russellee BnB Craft Retreats hosted a UFO Quilting Retreat.  Nine lovely ladies travelled to Tumut from Sydney, Braidwood, Queanbeyan and Canberra for this retreat.

Most of these ladies had not met before the retreat and new friendships were made over the weekend.  Quilt tops were completed and lots of ideas were shared.

Tony again did a wonderful job of providing food for the ladies.  It never ceases to amaze me the beautiful meals that he presents to the ladies.
A couple of the ladies had to leave on the Sunday afternoon but the rest stayed an extra night to enjoy a wonderful Quilting Party presented by Maru Soto of Material Girls Down Under.  Maru had a great range of gadgets, fabrics, and books for the ladies to purchase.  Maru  also made the morning special with games with quilting themes and demonstrations of gadgets and quilt blocks.

Local ladies from Batlow and Tumut also came to the 'Quilting Party'.  A highlight of the morning was a show and tell.
Geraldine Fleming from Batlow showed her wonderful NZ themed quilt.  Geraldine made the centre panels of the quilt in Amanda Daleys workshop on our 2ns Australian Quilting Cruise.  Well done Geraldine.

Workshop and Retreat at Russellee BnB Tumut

Upcoming Workshop and Retreat at Russellee BnB.  Fabric Mosaic Workshop with Robyn Taylor the 23-24 May. Workshop and accommodation on Saturday night is $190. Extra nights accommodation is available.

 

 A UFO Retreat 19-21 June.  Cost is $220 and includes two nights accommodation and all meals. Bring those unfinished quilts, wall hangings or start a new project. You do not have to be a quilter.  Last retreat we had a crotcheter and a lovely lady doing cross stitch.  This is a great weekend to relax and indulge in your passion for craft.  No cooking, washing up or housework!!!

 

 
 

 
 

Bits and Bobs

It has been awhile since I have posted.  Been putting reports on Facebook. Anyway the past few months have been very busy.

Since I come home from Bail I have been concentrating on our 4^th Australian Quilting and Embroidery Cruise.  We have 34 ladies coming plus partners and friends.  This cruise is going to New Zealand on the 22^nd February 2015.  There is still time to join us on this cruise.

I have managed to fit in a weekend in Melbourne attending an Alison Holt workshop.  This is my finished project.

I shall try not to be so long between posts next time.

UFO Quilting Retreat

Last weekend Russellee had seven wonderful ladies at the April UFO Retreat.  Ladies came from Canberra, Narrandera, Henty and locally.  There was much laughter amongst the sewing.  The quilts that were brought along to be finished (or nearly finished) were marvellous.  The beautiful work that quilters bring never ceases to amaze me.  The diversity of patterns and fabric available to quilters, both hand and machine, today is fantastic.

 

My sister’s birthday was on the Sunday.  She has not been very well recently and my brother-in-law brought her out for lunch with the ladies.  We had a cake for her and it cheered her up immensely.

This weekend I have a group of card makers from Wagga in.  These ladies have booked Russellee to have a weekend way to allow them to get together to do their card making.  No cooking or cleaning and great company.
