Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. I hope you like my photo of Santaclees and his helpers. One thing I learnt from Melissa Kennedy on the cruise was that you need to add fun and laughter to your photos. To 'live out loud'.

I gathered the men in my life, and the old and young dog, put on some Christmas hats and set up the timer on the camera. I did not think they would cooperate but to my surprise they did. All I asked of them was to have a fun photo.

I hope you all have a wonderful and happy Christmas.

Back Home

After a wonderful 10 days of Scrapping and Cursing we are back to reality. The trip was wonderful. We met a great bunch of scrappers, had some great workshops, saw some new things and above all had a great time. Mellissa Kennedy from Kaiser was great. She has a vibrant personality and is wonderful to work with. Her diverse selection of workshops were enjoyed by all.

Lorelle Hardt, who is an Australian married to an American and the organizer of the trip, did a wonderful job. She is hoping to organize another one next year. I can recommend to trip to all scrappers. Thank you Lorelle.

We made a wonderful ship album for a memento of the trip. A Christmas double page layout, a single page layout, a box and a beautiful double page layout title ‘All about me.’ This layout used papers and colours that I wouldn’t normally have chosen but I was very impressed with the results. Thank you Mellissa.

We had access to a large scrapping room 24 hrs and could come and go as wee pleased. This was great.

Anne Marie for ‘Memories that Last’ had a small ‘shop’ which was great as we all purchased something. She also gave a bonus class featuring an acrylic hanger as a memento of the trip. Thank you Anne Marie.

Scrappin Cruise

Kay, Pam and I are going on a Scrappin Cruise on the 21st November. It is getting very close and getting very exciting. There are five days at sea and each day there is a workshop by Melissa Kennedy from Kaisercraft. We are looking forward to going and are starting to get daunted at what to take to scrap. We have access to a Scrapping Room where we can set up for the cruise. Also looking forward to meeting other Scrappers from far and wide. Will keep you posted on how it goes.

Heirloom Scraps Retreat

Last weekend Kim Kendell from Heirloom Scraps, Tarcutta NSW, held another successful weekend at Russellee. Kim is a great organiser of retreats and had a great bunch of girls and a guy for the weekend. Over the weekend there were numerous workshops, including layouts, cards and a mini album, conducted by four different talented scrappers. Plus a raffel for Breast Cancer, lucky draws and prizes. Kim also had a Scrappin Shop to temp all the scrappers.

Retreats and Wrokshops

Over the past four years I have had several patchwork and scrapbooking retreats and workshops. A couple of weeks ago we had a scrpabooking retreat. Girls came from the Jinderbyne area, Wollongong and Wagga plus a couple of local girls. We all had a great time. The photo is of the group and this is one of the layouts done on the weekend.

Last week I had a group of local ladies doing a machine embroidery wrokshop. Some of the ladies have just purchased large format embroidery machines and some already had them but were not confident in using them. The idea of the day was to get comfortable in setting up the embroidery units and loading the designs. One of the ladies is doing her version of the "Colour Purple Quilt" and one is doing a quilt with a ring of autralisn birds and flowers in the center. I shall keep you posted on these.

On the long weekend of October I was invited to submit a quilt for the Adaminaby CWA Quilt show. I put my cat wall hanging in and in won first prize in the wall hanging section.
